Unlocking a Self-Build Dream in Cornwall

There is something particularly special about helping someone build not just a house, but a future.

We are delighted that planning permission has now been granted for our Blue Anchor Self Build project in Cornwall—a scheme that will enable our client to create their own home and finally take that long-awaited step onto the property ladder after many years of renting.

For us, this is what architecture is truly about. Beyond the drawings, regulations and reports are people with ambitions, aspirations and dreams of a place to call home. Being part of that journey is an immense privilege.

Like many successful developments, this project was far from straightforward. The site presented a series of complex technical challenges, with flood risk being one of the most significant. Through detailed topographical surveys, flood modelling, a comprehensive Flood Risk Assessment and a carefully prepared Sequential Test, we were able to demonstrate that the proposal could be delivered safely, responsibly and in harmony with its surroundings.

Every project has its own obstacles to overcome. At Caullystone, we think of these as the locks that must be opened before the door to planning permission can finally swing wide.
